Hi, I am Dr. Lacerda. Thank you for visiting our website and I hope that we have provided you with not only information about our clinic, but about how to obtain better health naturally.
I am a local guy. I grew up in San Martin/Morgan Hill. I attended Gwinn Elementary School and Britton Middle School. I was a Mighty Acorn for three years of football at Live Oak High School and graduated in 1991. I then went to Gavilan Community College for some of my undergraduate studies and finally, after seven years of college, in 1998 I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose. I am a California Board Certified Doctor of Chiropractic and have been in private practice in Morgan Hill since 1999.
I live in Morgan Hill with my wife Heather and our three children, Mikayla, Logan and Sofia. There is no place in the world we would rather raise our family. It is truly a privilege to practice in my hometown and to give the gift of health to my neighbors, friends and family. I feel so fortunate to live in this great community and enjoy all it has to offer. Don't be surprised if you see me enjoying the scenic back roads on my Harley, spending the day with my family on Lake Anderson or hanging out near our office in downtown.
In practice, I am a traditional chiropractor. I treat vertebral subluxations. I do not treat just back pain or headaches; those are only the symptoms caused by subluxations. My patients all find relief from these symptoms, but this is not when my job as your doctor is over. I will relieve your pain, correct the problem (subluxations) that causes the symptoms and I will then maintain your better health through out your life. My commitment to my patients, from newborns to grandparents, is for a lifetime.
My Testimonial – Why I Became a Chiropractor
Like many of my patients, my first experience with chiropractic came when I had pain, and could not tolerate it any longer. I was only 19 years old and had been suffering from back pain and tingling off and on for two years because of a high-school football injury. Medical doctors had prescribed anti-inflammatory and pain medications, but the relief was only temporary. Nineteen was too young to be in pain and restricted from my active lifestyle, so when a friend recommended I visit his chiropractor, I had nothing to lose and only pain relief to gain.
After my first visit with the doctor, I realized as many of my patients do after their first visit, that I had Scoliosis. Subluxations had caused the Scoliosis and were causing the pain and tingling. After one month of treatment, I was pain free. This result I had expected. Chiropractors heal “bad backs,” and my back pain was gone. What was truly amazing and what changed my life forever was that the severe allergies and asthma that I had suffered from my entire life had improved 80 – 90%. I could breath! For the first time in my life I was no longer reliant on an inhaler and pills that still didn’t remedy all of my symptoms. Chiropractic had removed the Subluxations that had obviously been there my entire life and helped my body cure itself of my allergies and asthma. Though I still suffer from seasonal allergies about two weeks out of the year, I am not in need of drugs to keep me breathing as I had been for my 19 years before chiropractic. Regular adjustments and herbal supplements now quickly push me through allergy season, because I too am on a weekly chiropractic maintenance treatment plan that keeps me healthy. After one year into my initial treatment, my Scoliosis could no longer be visualized on x-ray and I was a healthier person by far.
I was very fortunate that the very first chiropractor I visited was a health through chiropractic doctor and not just a “quick fix” doctor. He trained me about chiropractic and inspired me to change my entire future. Within six months of my first adjustment, I had changed my major and was working towards acceptance to Chiropractic College. During my internship and residency I learned more about chiropractic from my doctor, mentor and teacher over the months I worked in his clinic.
As I write this testimonial, I realize that I need to find that friend who encouraged me to visit his chiropractor and truly thank him. Though he did not understand the immensity of his referral, he saved my life; he saved my wife’s life and he saved my children’s lives. To think of how my family’s life has been so blessed because of chiropractic is to see what a blessing it is to share chiropractic. His encouragement for me to visit his chiropractor, and that doctor who then trained me and encouraged me to become a chiropractor, has done so much good for so many people. I think of every patient’s life I have changed, made better, saved, and they too should be thankful to my old friend. Please make sure you thank the person who introduced you to chiropractic. They may have saved your life or way of life in ways you may never know.
